The Costa Blanca is well known for its sunny coastline and
warm year-round climate. Perhaps less well known,
except to those lucky few, is the interior of
this part of the province of Alicante. But waiting to be
discovered is a wonderful interior of limestone massifs
with hidden Moorish villages and an abundant landscape
of mediterranean vegetation.
This walking holiday is available all year round but is particularly
scenic in the early springtime when the almond orchards are
in full bloom. But whatever time you walk here, you can
experience the pleasures of the warm mediterranean climate
and the delight of seeing the many moorish castles and ancient Aragonese
fortresses. Hiking through orange, loquat and of course almond
orchards you follow rural tracks and trails to ascend to the
rocky limestone formations and impressive views of the
likes of the Barranco del Riu Negre and citadel of El Castellet.
Your accommodation on this tour is a mix of classic local guesthouses
and rural hotels. With dinners and breakfasts included all
you need do is ask why you have not yet visited this delightful
part of Spain and experienced the beauty of walking the almond
orchards of País Valencià.
