Self-Guided Walking Holidays The Spanish Pyrenees

   Overview
Spanish Pyrenees  8 Days / 7 Nights  Grade D: High Mountains
The Pyrenean mountain range is a walker's paradise. Reaching from the Atlantic coast in the Northe to the Mediterranean in the South, the Pyrenees are dotted with forts and castles - the legacy of the history of this much disputed region. From the glory and majesty of their high peaks to the forested slopes of many sheltered valleys, the Pyrenees really do have it all.

This walk is based in the Cerdanya region of the Oriental Pyrenees and starting from Andorra it follows parts of the GR11 to encompass everything from dramatic ridges to gentle slopes as it makes it way into Spain past the peak of Puigmal and the wonderful Vall de Nuria.

Being fortunate to have warm weather throughout the walking season, a holiday in this area is only enhanced by the wonderful regional gastronomy. You should walk the Pyrenees with care - after you have visited once you will be considering future trips to the region for many years to come!
