   Itinerary
View of El Teide during summer

Day 1 (Arrival)
Arrive in Tenerife and transfer to our base in the town of La Orotava, famous for its street tapestries of flowers and coloured sands during the Feast of Corpus Christi - and a wonderful location to start our adventure in Tenerife.

Day 2 (13km Valle de Orotava Walk)
You transfer by local bus to Aguamansa, where you start your walk today. Following a circular route the natural park "Parque Natural de Corona Forrestal" you walk the wooded slopes beneath Mt Teide. Along the way you ascend to Los Órganos - a natural series of basalt rock formations that resemble huge organ pipes. You return to your hotel in La Orotava for the night.

Day 3 (15km or 19km La Montañeta to Los Silos )
A short transfer brings you to La Montañeta where you head up from the church of San Francisco to the villages of Las Arenas Negras and then continue west to the village of Erjos. You then start to drop down and walk along an ancient path and farmland, through bay laurel to reach your destination at the little village square in Los Silos. Rest and enjoy a relaxing drink in the shade here while you wait for the bus to Garachico.

Day 4 (13km Teno Alto)
Another transfer by bus brings you to the western part of Tenerife for a walk through open woodlands, across farmland and along spectacular gorges or 'barrancos' to the small village of Teno Alto. You then follow paths across the plateau, walking amongst fields of giant euphorbia cacti plants. When the weather is clear weather, you are blessed with wonderful views off this high plateau across to the island of La Gomera.

Landscape around El TeideDay 5 (10km Las Cañadas del Teide)
Our transport brings you from Garachico to your next accommodation in the morning - nestled on the edge of El Teide crater. You have the opportunity of a walk which ascends Guajara (Tenerife's second highest peak) or you can take advantage of a shorter 6km walk around the Roques de Garcia in this stunning landscape.

Day 6 (16km las Cañadas to El Portillo)
Today you have another day of walking in the unique surroundings of El Teide and Las Cañadas. Leading away from El Parador de las Cañadas you follow small dusty tracks Get better acquainted with El Pico del Teide, wandering through the bizarre landscape of Las Cañadas. Again, several options. The standard walk leads from the Parador to El Portillo partly along the 'pensionades' - an easy-to-follow unsurfaced track, with magnificent views. At the end of the day's walk you transfer by taxi to La Laguna.

Day 7 (16km Taganana to Taborno )
Our final day's walking brings you to the north of the Island and the Anaga range of mountains. This is a challenging but very rewarding day in the impressive surroundings of high coastal cliffs and deep mountain gorges.
